This Privacy Policy explains how Move Out of California ("we", "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you use moveoutofcalifornia.com (the "Site"). It includes the notices required by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, "CCPA").

We collect the categories of personal information below for the purposes described. We sell or share personal information with moving companies as explained in this policy. You can opt out at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
Information we collect
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, IP address.
- Move details: origin ZIP code, destination state and city, home size, move date and services requested.
- Internet activity: pages viewed, referring URL, browser and device information, advertising click identifiers (such as fbclid and gclid) and UTM campaign parameters.
- Consent records: the consent language you agreed to, the time, your IP address, user agent and page URL.
- Inferences: limited inferences about your moving needs drawn from the above.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, other than as needed to provide the service.
How we use information
- To match you with and introduce you to up to three moving companies.
- To contact you about your move, including by phone, text message and email, as you consented.
- To keep records of your consent and comply with legal obligations.
- To measure and improve our Site and advertising, and to prevent fraud and spam.
How we share information
- Partner movers: When you request quotes, we share your identifiers and move details with up to three licensed interstate moving companies. These companies pay us for the introduction. This is a "sale" under the CCPA.
- Advertising and analytics partners: We may use tools such as the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics/Google Ads, which collect internet activity for cross-context behavioral advertising. This is "sharing" under the CCPA.
- Service providers: hosting, database, email and similar vendors that process data on our behalf under contract.
- Legal: when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
In the preceding 12 months we may have sold or shared identifiers, move details and internet activity with the categories of third parties above. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Retention
We keep lead and consent records for as long as needed to provide the service and to demonstrate consent and compliance, generally up to , then delete or de-identify them.
Your California privacy rights

To exercise your rights, use our privacy request form or email . We will verify your request by matching information you provide to our records. You may use an authorized agent. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of sale/sharing for that browser.
Opting out with us stops future sharing by us. Moving companies that already received your information have their own privacy practices; you can ask them directly to stop contacting you, or reply STOP to their text messages.
Text messages and calls
If you consent, we and up to three matched movers may contact you by calls and texts, including using automated technology. Reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time. See our Consent to contact page.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the "last updated" date above.
